About Lumière Psychology
About Lucia
Hello, I'm Lucia.
I'm a registered psychologist with almost a decade of experience supporting adolescents, young adults and adults through life's challenges. I hold a Master of Professional Psychology and a Master of Counselling from Monash University.
My goal is to create a space where people feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted. I believe therapy works best when there is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, curiosity and collaboration.
Whether you're navigating a difficult period in life, feeling stuck in familiar patterns, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can provide an opportunity for reflection, growth and meaningful change.
My Experience
Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of mental health settings, supporting individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and life experiences.
My experience includes:
Private practice psychology
Youth mental health services through Headspace
Community mental health programs
Hospital substitution and multidisciplinary healthcare settings
Telehealth services supporting clients across Australia
Most recently, I worked with Clarity Health Care, providing psychological support to individuals experiencing a broad range of mental health and health-related challenges, including chronic pain, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, self-esteem and identity concerns, relationship difficulties, and adjustment to physical health conditions.
My Approach
I take a warm, compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy.
I understand that seeking support can feel vulnerable, and I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences at your own pace. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I am interested in understanding the whole person — your strengths, values, relationships, history and goals.
My work is informed by a range of evidence-based approaches, including:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Schema Therapy
Motivational Interviewing
Trauma-Informed Care
Systemic and relational approaches
I tailor therapy to each individual, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to wellbeing.
The Meaning Behind Lumière
Lumière is the French word for light.
The name reflects my belief that therapy can help illuminate patterns, experiences and possibilities that may be difficult to see when life feels overwhelming.
It also holds personal significance, as my name, Lucia, is derived from the Latin word for light.
My hope is that Lumière Psychology offers a space where greater clarity, insight and self-understanding can emerge, allowing you to move towards a life that feels more authentic, meaningful and fulfilling.
